Edita Bačić (LLB) is a Law Librarian, Head of the Library at the University of Split Faculty of Law. She is the author of more than 50 articles in academic journals and collections on various professional topics in librarianship, especially on advocacy in library profession, on promotion of academic libraries and importance of free access to information.
Founder of Advocacy Working Group (AWG) in the Croatian Library Association
(CLA), she is currently presiding Chair-Person of Commission for Law and
related Libraries of the Croatian Library Association, and acting presiding officer
of the Southeast European Association of Law and related Libraries.
Lecturer in the National Center for Permanent Education of Librarians and
Faculty of Law Workshops in Academic Writing for the Faculty of Law students.
Edita Bačić is currently chief editor of the Bulletin of the Librarian’s Association
Since 2003 up to day she is active participant in activities of the International
Federation of Library Association (IFLA), member of the IFLA Standing
Committee of Management of Library Association Section (2003-2011), and
now member of the IFLA Standing Committee of Law Libraries Section. As a part
of the European team she is participant in the IFLA Advocacy Program (IAP).
In 2010 she received the Kukuljevic Librarian Prize from the Croatian Library
Association as recognition for her achievements in librarian profession.
